Beyond Vegas and Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council Present the Las Vegas Premiere of DRAWN

LAS VEGAS - April 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Beyond Vegas and the Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council (LVCLC) present the Las Vegas premiere of “DRAWN: The Art of Ascent”, an award winning film by renowned climbing artist and adventurer Jeremy Collins. The event is Thursday, May 7 at the Clark County Library. (1401 E. Flamingo Rd.) “DRAWN” explores the universal idea of purpose and finding direction, and is a part of Collins’ ongoing examination of the intersection of adventure and “real” life. Collins’ inspiration for “DRAWN” came after losing a friend to an avalanche, which led him on a journey from death to life. The film takes the audience on a global adventure as he makes first ascents in Argentina, Canada, China and Venezuela. Each challenge is documented in Collins’ hybrid style of handcrafted animation meets on-the-fly action.  Doors are at 6 p.m. and the multi-media event starts at 7 p.m.  Tickets $10 and are available at the door; proceeds will benefit the LVCLC

Currently on the Banff Film Festival World Tour, “DRAWN” also took home the Creative Excellence Award at the 5 Point Film Festival in Carbondale, Colo., and the Wild and Scenic Film Festival’s Jury Prize, along with the Best Script Award at the 2014 Bilbao Mendi Film Festival. In addition to these accolades, earlier this year Collins was named Adidas and the Outdoor Industry Association’s “Most Inspirational Individual.”

Immediately following the screening of “DRAWN” is a raffle, live art display and Q&A session with Collins. He will also be signing the companion book, “DRAWN: the Art of Ascent that offers 180 pages of hand-illustrated storytelling and is published by Mountaineers Books.  All ticketholders are automatically entered in a raffle that is sponsored by Desert Rock Sports.
