PONTIAC, Mich. - April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The new pet-themed product line will be available for the first time at the Spring Show & Sale, May 2-3, from noon to 6 p.m. each day at epiphany glass studio, 770 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac.  The Spring Show and Sale, which is free and open to the public, will feature glassblowing demonstrations and discounts on epiphany glass and StudioE pieces.  http://www.epiphanyglass.com

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the new pet-themed pieces will benefit the Michigan Humane Society in their mission to serve the tens of thousands of animals in their care each year.  The items range from $25 to $150, making them ideal gift items for the pet lovers in your life.  Studio artists at epiphany glass developed the entirely new array of gift items for the StudioE line, featuring everything from hand-blown glass dog dishes and paw print-embellished coasters to cozy, curled cat figurines and colorful dogs.

“We are grateful to April and epiphany glass studio for this unique partnership, as it allows us to celebrate the impact of our beloved companions through wonderful art and will also directly help MHS care for animals in need,” said Michigan Humane Society President and CEO Matthew Pepper.

The Michigan Humane Society pet-themed items by StudioE include the following items:

Sleeping Kitties: Each multi-colored glass kitty is curled up catching a quick catnap! These  hand-sculpted glass cats come in a wide variety of custom-colored mixes and are heavy enough to use as a fun paperweight. The sleeping kitties come in two sizes, small and large

·     Sitting Kitties: Each kitty is hand-sculpted in clear glass with an inner core of multi-colored, hand-pulled cane. There is a wide variety of color combinations to reflect the personality or spirit of your own feline friend!

·         Dogs: Each glass dog is hand-sculpted and stands about six inches high from ear to foot. With their tongues lolling out, these dogs are the definition of playful and come in a range of bright, vibrant colors.

·         Wine glasses: These clear, stemless wine glasses are hand-blown and treated with a simple paw print impression on the body. The classic shape is elegant enough for a refined setting while still appealing to any pet-lover.

·         Drinking glasses: These hand-blown glass tumblers are both functional and fun! Treated with several paw print impressions, they are a must-have for any pet-lover’s kitchen collection. Each glass features a brightly colored rim and a subtle ombré effect at the top of the glass.

·         Coasters: Coasters will be available in sets of four. Each coaster is made of clear glass and hand-sculpted. One coaster design features a series of small paw print impressions, while another design features a single, bold paw print.

·         Small water/food bowls: Perfect for a cat or small dog, these bowls are hand-blown and include a paw print impression. There are many exciting colors to choose from, or pick a bowl infused with aventurine, which adds a sparkly effect to the glass.

·         Large water/food bowls: These bowls are ideal for a larger dog with a big appetite! Each hand-blown glass bowl is treated with a paw print impression and comes in transparent colored glass. And have no fear – each bowl has a no-slip, no-chip coating along the bottom edge!

Also debuting at the Spring Show, a festive new line of glass wine decanters from epiphany glass studio.

The 2015 line of wine decanters includes six different, elegant designs made exclusively for the epiphany studio line, each priced at $300 with plans for a new design each year.

“Part of the process of decanting is ceremonial,” said epiphany glass artist and owner April Wagner.  “The presentation of the wine, looking at the color, it’s all part of the occasion.  Anyone can use a beautiful decanter for a special occasion or simply to celebrate with a group of friends.”

Guest artist Emily Donald of Dearborn, Mich., will offer textile designs from her home goods line, Beacon & Batten (https://www.facebook.com/beaconandbatten) at the Spring Show as well.  Featuring patterns inspired by vintage textiles and wallpaper, each piece is designed, printed and sewn by Donald using natural materials and eco-friendly inks. During the event, her designs will be available on throw pillows and tea towels.  Donald previously freelanced for Wovenplay, a couture childrenswear studio in Brooklyn, NY. While there, she fell in love with the screen-printing process for garments and yardage.
