A Summer of laughter and music coming to Sugden Community Theatre

NAPLES, Fla. - April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The halls at Sugden Community Theatre will fill with laughter and music this summer as The Naples Players present Stage 2 Improv and the summer musical, Legally Blonde.

         Back for its third year of delighting audiences, from May 15 to June 13, is Stage 2 Improv, a Naples-based improvisational theatre group featuring scenes, games and songs created on the spot.  Audiences who enjoyed Whose Line is it Anyway and The Second City improv troop will enjoy Stage 2 Improv, where the actors utilize information given by the audience to build the show. Every scene and game is driven by audience suggestions and some even feature audience participation, making every performance a unique and funny experience.

         Stage 2 Improv was founded by Michael Santos and Judith Gangi Santos, co-founders of the former comedy group, Naples City Improv. New actors to Stage 2 Improv this year are Susannah Breslin, Nick Ciavarra, Scott Thompson, and Caitlynn Crawford. Returning cast includes Gina Balducci, Casey Debrowski, Synthia DuBose, Guy Glover, Lucy Harris, Steve Johnson, Judith Gangi Santos, Mike Santos, Rosie Spinosa, and Joe Zerbo.

         Tickets for Stage 2 Improv are $20 for adults and $10 for students 21 and under,

July 8 to August 9 the perky daredevil in high heels, Elle Woods, and her adorable sidekick Bruiser, come to life on the Blackburn stage in the musical comedy Legally Blonde. What does an eternally optimistic sorority girl do when she loses the man of her dreams? Apply to Harvard Law School to win him back, duh! With music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe & Nell Benjamin and a book written by Heather Hach which is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro Goldwyn Mayer motion picture of the same name, Legally Blonde is a fun, energetic and hysterically funny look at Elle and how she defies expectations by proving that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Tickets for Legally Blonde are $40 for adults and $10 for students 21 and under. Tickets for Stage 2 and Legally Blonde can be purchased at the box office, by calling 239.263.7990 with credit card information, or online at naplesplayers.org. New season subscriptions are also available for the 2015-16 season, opening in October 2015. Subscriptions can be purchased online or at the Box Office. Subscriptions provide a savings over individual ticket prices and when sell out performances occur, subscribers are guaranteed a seat.  Sugden Community Theatre, voted “Best Live Theatre” for twelve years in a row in the SWFL Choice Awards, is located at 701 5^th Avenue South in downtown Naples.
