NXNY Remixes Deee-Lite's "Groove is in the Heart" but gets reported by Lady Kier

MANHATTAN, N.Y. - April 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Since 2011, NXNY has been using Soundcloud as an outlet to share their free remixes with their fans. Their smooth vibes and original sound come with the help of sampling artists such as U2, Majid Jordan, Duke Dumont and many others. Sampling is one of the most basic and raw forms of how electronic dance music is created today and is an important part of the process—it is part of the evolution of music and the genre itself.

The duo recently released a free remix of one of their favorite songs from the 90's by Deee-Lite, Groove is in the Heart. Many studio hours resulted in a well-polished revival of a classic track they had been inspired by. Once the it was completed and sent off for proper mixing and mastering, it was released on Friday April 24th, 2015. The track received positive, deserved attention and collected many plays and shares since its announcement.

Unfortunately, the lead singer of Deee-Lite, Lady Kier, was not in support of the remix. After a few inappropriate tweets, Soundcloud removed the track on Monday April 27th, 2015, stating that that it had been reported to be improper and was flagged due to copyright infringement.

NXNY is fighting to get their remix back on Soundcloud so that their fans have a chance to listen and to download the track for free. NXNY’s main goal to share their music, while educating younger generations on nineties dance music and culture, without trying to turn a profit, especially for sampled material they recognize is not their own.
