The Museum of Chocolate Plans to open in Sedona, AZ

SEDONA, Ariz. - April 27, 2015 - PRLog -- The Museum of Chocolate launches its 30 day Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funds to open its doors. Visionary and museum owner Lee Perrotta-Fityo amassed the decade’s long collection into a historical timeline on the world history of chocolate and plans to open a guided tour chocolate experience early in the fall of 2015. Perrotta-Fityo an award winning Master Chocolatier herself is currently sourcing potential locations in the Sedona area to house this collection.  Perrotta-Fityo said “she has spent her life dedicated to chocolate-teaching, making writing, researching and eating!

Funds collected will contribute to expenses and the grand opening for the guided multimedia interactive museum. The timeline is a trilogy and will begin in the rainforest go through Colonialism & the chocolate industrial revolution and end with the modern day chocolatier…essentially “bean to bar” and “rainforest to city”

When asked why a chocolate museum? Perrotta-Fityo smiles and says it’s always been about the chocolate! According to Perrotta-Fityo it’s not just a museum it’s an experience. The allure, the history, the controversy and even battles fought over the amazing “Food of the Gods”- Perrotta-Fityo wants to share the experience of chocolate with the masses and picked Sedona, Arizona to take on this massive project. Perrotta-Fityo’s story began in Sedona, Arizona and it was there where she generated her first chocolate company idea and brought it to fruition in 1999. With over 6 million visitors to the area annually Perrotta-Fityo said “I’ll have an audience to educate and be a part of this newly budding chocolate mecca”

Museum plans include a chocolate gift shop by The Chocolate Lady  which is an old world  retail model based on Perrotta-Fityo’s famous  East Coast Chocolaterie which celebrates her families chocolate lineage.  Local chocolatiers to the region will be invited to sell their chocolate wares and take part in events celebrating the “Food of the Gods. Plans for the museum also include workshops, lectures, guest speakers, demonstrations, classes, tastings, private group tours, as well as Perrotta-Fityo manufacturing her own successful lines of chocolate. According to Perrotta-Fityo “it’s my mission to spread the word about chocolate with its famous history and be a part of the cast of characters who are responsible for its evolution.”  Author and speaker Perrotta-Fityo says “it took the whole world to make chocolate what it is today” and” I want to share it with that world!”
