Bisnar Chase Awards $1,000 Scholarship to Law Student in Need

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - April 22, 2015 - PRLog -- The Newport Beach personal injury law firm of Bisnar Chase has awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Benita Hudson, a second year student at the Nashville School of Law.  Hudson has dreams of building a successful family law practice geared toward helping low-income families and upholding parental rights.

Hudson was selected from an exceptional national pool of applicants, based on the essay she wrote detailing how she plans to make the law community a better place. She is the child of Russian immigrants and concentration-camp survivors. She is also the first in her family to get a college degree.

"What I truly want to do through the assistance of the Bisnar Chase Legal Scholarship is to determine whether I can build a successful and sustaining law practice with a legal specialty in family law, focusing on the reinstatement of lost parental rights," she said. "Ideally I want to gear my practice to low-income families by keeping my legal fees within the range of my target client."

Hudson, a wife and mother of two young children, is pursuing her law degree while working two jobs – as a litigation paralegal and as a substitute teacher in an inner-city public school – while her husband is also attending school. She expects to graduate with a law degree in May 2017.

In her essay, Hudson also talked about donating plasma cells in a center located in one of Nashville's sketchiest neighborhoods. With these donations, she said, she makes an extra $70 a week, which goes toward her school expenses.

It is this unstoppable drive to help herself and others that made Hudson stand out during the selection process, said Brian Chase, senior partner at Bisnar Chase.
