‘Chef on Demand’ Brings the Gourmet Meal Experience Home for Time-Pressed Consumers

Ready-Made Entrees and Snacks are a Healthy Alternative to Traditional Takeout

PARK RIDGE, N.J. - April 21, 2015 - PRLog -- While a growing number of Americans care about what they eat, many people don’t have time to plan and prepare a healthy meal from scratch. Chef on Demand (http://www.thechefondemand.com/) strives to make life easier, and more delicious, with a modern twist on traditional takeout. The personal chef service solves the “What’s for dinner?” dilemma of time-pressed individuals and families with ready-made gourmet entrees and snacks that emphasize nutrition, balance and flavor.

Founded in 2011 by William Stevens, Chef on Demand shops for all ingredients and prepares customizable gourmet meals and home-style dinners from clients’ home kitchens. Delivery also is available. All menu items are born from the creative mind of Stevens, a classically trained chef with more than 19 years of culinary experience. The service is available seven days a week to residents throughout Bergen County.

“I think most people would love to be able to prepare wholesome meals themselves but many either don't have the time, or would rather avoid the trouble of coming up with new dinner ideas and grocery shopping every week,” said Stevens. “Chef on Demand brings the gourmet meal experience home with chef-designed recipes prepared using only the freshest locally grown and farm-to-table ingredients possible.”

During a free initial consultation, Stevens determines each customer’s food likes and dislikes, and identifies any food allergies or special dietary requests. A customized menu plan is then created for each client, including snacks.  Detailed reheating instructions are provided with each meal, and customers can choose from daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly meal plan options.

The wide variety of items that Stevens regularly prepares for families ranges from traditional meals such as turkey meatloaf with whipped potatoes and butternut squash, and chicken quesadillas with homemade guacamole to more fine dining options such as five spice and sesame-crusted seared tuna loin with a wakame (seaweed) salad and sushi rice, and grilled lamb chops with a basil mint couscous. Stevens also makes kid-friendly snacks with a decidedly healthy twist including freshly washed cuts of fruits and vegetables; tomato, cucumber and mozzarella salad; prosciutto with melon; and bruschetta tomatoes with homemade toast points.

“The idea of mom or dad spending hours in the kitchen so the whole family can enjoy a warm meal is no longer feasible for most busy households,” said Stevens. “Our goal is to bring people back to the dinner table of their youth, where home-cooked meals and memories are enjoyed together as a family. A personal chef is no longer just for the rich and famous. Most of our clients are surprised to find out just how affordable this convenience can be.”

Chef on Demand’s additional services include catering for small dinner parties and barbecues, personal food shopping, private in-home cooking classes and cooking parties.
