WASHINGTON - April 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Announced on April 14, ITN Source now offers CCTV news material directly through the ITN Source website (www.itnsource.com). The footage focuses on regional and international news content, produced by CCTV's own newsgathering team, covering a combination of current political, social, economic and cultural hard news and human interest stories unique to China. The agreement will enable broadcasters and production companies worldwide to search, view and download unedited CCTV+ news material online at ITNSource.com.

“We will be showcasing the CCTV+ content, and a new HD footage offering at the ACSIL FOOTAGE EXPO,” said Nan Halperin, Business Development Manager at ITN Source. “And will also be introducing our representation of Rex Features, a prestigious 60-year Stills archive with over 10 million images, including a vast range of celebrity photographs.”

ITN Source is among the oldest and largest of the global archives, managing the footage licensing of Reuters, ITN, Fox News and Fox Movietone, among others. Plus, their partnership with ITV Studios adds a production component to their content services. Nearly three million clips have been digitized and are accessible on the ITN Source website.

“What makes ITN Source different is the diversity, depth, and breadth of content,” said Halperin, as she listed off the many specialty collections at ITN, including Images of War and Rex Features’ Wiener Library of Holocaust imagery. “We have an accessible, open website, which allows researchers to download free screeners and maintain clip bins at no charge and with no limit.”

Examples of ITN Source footage can be seen in a current exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art, at the opening of the 9/11 Memorial Museum, and in television programs such as CNN’s Original series “The Sixties” and Ken Burns’ “The Roosevelts” documentary film.

ITN Source passionately believes in the power of archive footage to inspire and enhance storytelling and actively supports and promotes the use of footage in production. For example, ITN Source is running a Short Film Competition in association with Sheffield Doc/Fest and Audio Network, offering a £1,000 prize to the winner, while the top 3 entries will get to see their short film on the big screen at Sheffield Doc/Fest, 5-10 June 2015.  More information is available at: https://www.sheffdocfest.com/articles/260-itn-source-competition.

Nan Halperin, Todd Himmelreich, Christopher Morgan, (from the US office) and Catherine Laferriere-Vitali (from their Paris office) will be on-site at the ACSIL FOOTAGE EXPO 2015.
