Proudly South African Initiative Aims To Foster Economic Growth

African Directory Services encourages companies to join the Proudly South African initiate to foster economic growth

DURBAN, South Africa - April 17, 2015 - PRLog -- First conceived at the Presidential Job Summit in 1998, the Proudly South African Campaign was born out of socio-economic necessity to create jobs, under the leadership of the former South African President, Nelson Mandela. Through the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC), the Proudly South African Campaign was launched in 2002.

The Proudly South African "buy local" campaign encourages the nation to buy local products and services, in an effort to stimulate economic growth, promote national pride, patriotism and social cohesion.

Locally produced products and services means that an increase in sustainable job opportunities is created. When shoppers buy local it means that the supplier is only a phone call away.

The Proudly South African logo indicates that the company, product and/or the service provided is of high quality. It is also an endorsement that the company treats its employees fairly, that the company cares for the environment and that the total product is made locally or some of the products are made locally by using imported materials.

South Africa is an important foreign investment destination, trading goods and products with the rest of the world to provide consumers with a variety of products and services. At African Directory Services we realise the importance creating goods that we can call our own pride and enjoy and encourage consumers to embrace what we, as SA businesses have to offer. We are confident that our local products are on par with international standards, if not better.
