About the soloists:
Katia Popov, violin:
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Award winning violinist KATIA POPOV has held the positions of Concertmaster of the Sofia Chamber Orchestra and the Academy of Music Chamber Orchestra.  After moving to the United States, Katia became a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Principal II Violin of the Long Beach Symphony, and Concertmaster of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Katia Popov is the first woman Concertmaster of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Under the baton of such conductors as John Mauceri, John Williams, Thomas Wilkins, David Newman and Bramwel Tovey she has performed with some of the biggest stars in the show business like Placido Domingo, Sir James Galloway, Joshua Bell, Marilyn Horne, Harry Connick Jr., Gloria Estefan, Beck, Chicago, Earth Wind and Fire and many more.She has collaborated with such artists as Zubin Mehta, Esa-Pekka Salonnen, Yo Yo Ma, Pinkas Zukerman, Sir Simon Rattle, Izhak Perlman.

Ruslan Biryukov, cello:
Grand Prize Winner of the 17th Mu Phi Epsilon International Competition cellist RusLan Biryukov (Руслан Бирюков) is the founder of the Glendale Philharmonic orchestra, Los Angeles Cello Quartet and Artistic director of the Positive Motions Concert Series in Los Angeles. He was the only cellist ever invited to perform for 10 consecutive years solo recitals at the Sundays Live Concert Series in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the longest running live radio broadcast concert series in US, as well as the only Russian cellist invited to solo during the inaugural season of the Reneé and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Orange County.
Known for his "superb artistry, passion and individuality", he collaborated with Midori, Mstislav Rostropovich and Seiji Ozawa in venues such as the Los Angeles Disney Hall and the Big Hall of Moscow Conservatory in over twenty countries in the former USSR, Europe and the United States.
Born in Baku, Azerbaijan, RusLan is a graduate of Baku Music Academy, Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, and USC Thornton School of Music. In 2003 Mr. Biryukov was awarded permanent residency from the U.S. government as an "Extraordinary Ability Artist."

Régulo Martínez-Antón, piano:
Winner of the "Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde Mosel-Eifel" Prize in Germany, pianist Régulo Martínez-Antón has appeared in renowned venues throughout Europe and North and South America. A versatile and passionate performing artist, Mr. Martínez-Antón has proven himself to be one of the most intriguing Spanish pianists of his generation.

Mr. Martínez-Antón performs frequently as both a recitalist and concerto soloist. Recent highlights include a solo recital at the prestigious El Escorial Music Festival and a performance of Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto with Maestro Michael Francis and the Andres Segovia Chamber Orchestra in Spain. He received a special invitation from El Sistema and its founder Maestro José Abreu to perform a recital in Caracas, Venezuela, commemorating the life of famed Spanish pianist Alicia de Larrocha. He has performed as soloist with several orchestras in the United States, and regularly presents diverse recital programs in both domestic and international venues. Mr. Martinez-Anton has appeared with ensembles in the United States, Canada, South America, and several countries throughout Europe. He has collaborated with renowned musicians including Paul Coletti, Ronald Leonard, Guillaume Sutre, and members of JONDE, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the L.A. Opera.

About the conductor: Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann is a composer, conductor and virtuoso performer, appearing with many orchestras in the Southern California area. In addition to her positions as Music Director and Conductor of Southland Symphony, and University Orchestra at CSUDH, she serves on the faculty at California State University Dominguez Hills campus, is the Pastor and the Minister of Music at the Bethel UCC Congregational Church of Ontario,CA and Artistic Director of Betthel Arts .She is a popular guest conductor for the Culver City Symphony Orchestra, the Coachella Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Inland Valley Symphony, among others. She is a performer with The Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay,  and is principal violist of the Culver City Symphony, & Marina del Rey Symphony Orchestras as well as several orchestras for special events,. Dr. Mann has been recognized by the City of West Covina, County of Los Angeles, and L.A. County Fair as a “Community Hero” for her work in the arts, and received “Woman of the Year in the Arts” awards from the California State Legislature and the US House of Representatives, and was the recipient of the Shreveport LA Regional Arts Council's prestigious Music Fellowship Award
