Black Hollywood gets LIT!!!!!!

ATLANTA - April 16, 2015 - PRLog -- (Atlanta, GA) Urban booklovers and authors alike will want to visit Atlanta, GA for the 1st annual AAMBC Literary weekend June 12th & 13th. The culmination of the weekend, especially designed to highlight and celebrate African American literature, will be the inaugural AAMBC Literary awards on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the 444 Theatre located at 444 Highland, Atlanta, GA 30312.

AAMBC, which stands for African Americans on the Move Book Club, was started eight years ago, by a then twenty-year old fledgling author Tamika Newhouse. The purpose of the book club was to expose unknown writers and to give them the opportunity to win accolades. From first time writers to NY Times best-selling authors, AAMBC has consistently set the tone to support and promote black writers. Since its inception, AAMBC organization has become a national resource for AA literature enthusiasts across the country, collaborating with such names as Zane, Mary B. Morrison, Francis Ray and Carl Webber to name a few.

This summer, Atlanta will host the inaugural AAMBC Literary Awards of 2015 complete with a red carpet ceremony for nominees and key influencers in the literary community. “We have the opportunity to celebrate so many of the other art forms on a regular basis,” says founder Tamika Newhouse. “The AAMBC awards gives us the opportunity to celebrate literature as an art form and those who have made great strides in the culture. Hosting the event in Atlanta also known as Black Hollywood, we are hoping to educate and involve the entertainment community in this celebration. Literature is one of the most important resources we have in retaining culture.”

With a host of events over the weekend AAMBC members and celebrities will create a celebratory weekend dedicated to AA literature, including all genres and forms. The 2015 AAMBC awards looks to welcome new authors, celebrity authors, as well as musicians, actors, and more. The 2015 AAMBC awards will be held at the 444 Theater located at 444 Highland, Atlanta, GA 30312.
