Denver Seminary to Dedicate Larson Family Torah

LITTLETON, Colo. - April 15, 2015 - PRLog -- Denver Seminary is pleased to announce the dedication of the Larson Family Torah that has generously been gifted to the Seminary by Ken and Barb Larson and their family. Hundreds of years old, this 100 foot long Hebrew scroll of the first five books of the Bible has found new life in the Denver Seminary community.

In honor of this gift, the Seminary has planned a dedication service on Monday, April 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denver Seminary chapel, located at 6399 South Santa Fe Drive, Littleton, Colorado 80120. This event is open to the community. Please join as Denver Seminary celebrates and prepares for the use of the Larson Family Torah in classes, research, and ministry.

Regarding this donation, Denver Seminary’s president, Dr. Mark Young states, “The addition of this Torah scroll to the academic resources of Denver Seminary will enhance biblical scholarship for our faculty and students, as well as for those from the broader academic and faith communities. We are honored to receive this spectacular gift.”

Having survived some of the darkest periods of human history, this scroll is a powerful testament to God’s faithfulness and the enduring power of His Word. This stunning piece of spiritual heritage demonstrates the meticulous care and sacrificial commitment of one faith community’s preservation of the biblical text. Denver Seminary is honored and excited to add this beautiful and meaningful text of scripture to its academic community.
