Northeastern University Charlotte Expands Degree Offerings

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - April 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Northeastern University – Charlotte today announced it has received approval from the North Carolina General Administration and Board of Governors to offer an additional five master’s programs, one baccalaureate degree for second-degree students and one certificate for advanced graduate study. Programs in Corporate and Organizational Communication, Homeland Security and Nonprofit Management are enrolling students for the spring.  Newly-approved healthcare programs will begin enrolling in 2016.

“Northeastern’s growing number of graduate degree and certificate programs are directly aligned with the needs of employers in the region, many of whom are our co-op partners,” said Dr. Cheryl Richards, CEO and Regional Dean of Northeastern University’s Charlotte campus. “These new programs are in response to their hiring and workforce development needs.”

These additions to the Northeastern University – Charlotte portfolio, which opened its campus in the Center City in 2011, brings its total number of offerings to 25 graduate degree programs and 10 certificate programs in six industry-aligned sectors: Business, Education, Government & Civic Engagement, Healthcare, Leadership & Management and Science, Technology & Engineering.

According to Charlotte Center City Partners, 100,000 people currently work in Uptown Charlotte.  Northeastern University’s Trade and Tryon location is ideal for Uptown professionals taking evening classes.
