Lung Cancer Foundation Making Waves in New York

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - April 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Mae’s Breath Foundation makes its mark in fighting lung cancer. Amazing what happens when a thought is brought into fruition and how it may affect lives of hidden voices one breath at a time.

The vision of fighting the stigma of lung cancer came about with the passing of Eartha “Mae” Lawson. Eartha was a Brooklyn resident who lost her brief fight with the disease in 2010. Eartha better known as Mae in her community knew the importance of giving back to her community, her memory and stance in standing up for good and just has pass down to her children and friends, who keep the thought alive. Mae’s Breath’s Foundation believes to breathe should not be discriminatory, and with lung cancer having a huge stigma attached this is usually the case. If you smoke it’s believed that this is in the cards, this thought is not fair and shows a lack of consideration for those who have never smoked that also succumb to the disease.

Mae’s Breath Foundation’s mission is to empower and educate lung cancer patients in treatment options, and building a healthy and effective relationship with healthcare providers; all while maintaining their dignity.

Saturday April 18, 2015 will bring the discussion to light and speak on what is needed in mindful and proper lung care; how we as a community deal with stress by eliminating the need in picking up negative habits, such as smoking.  We talk about it and we form an alliance in proper means of getting the community to shun the stigma of lung cancer. MBF will also continue with their Creative Arts Series, which uses the arts to talk about lung cancer, with a mini photo exhibit with works of Maureen Regan.
