Paragon Pools Hosts 12th Annual Float Like A Duck on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at YMCA in Las Vegas
Award-Winning, Family Friendly Water Safety Program- Free and Open to the Public, 12noon-4pm
Educating the public on the importance of safety while celebrating the joys of water sports, the annual event will focus on ENFORCING the ABC&D’s of water safety, with a BIG emphasis on A-adult supervision.
Nationally recognized water safety advocate and president of Paragon Pools, Joseph M. Vassallo, CBP APSP Fellow states, “We want to ensure that family members have a comprehensive understanding of water safety; it’s not just a concern when enjoying water activities in a pool, lake or beach, it’s also the preventative measures taken when living or visiting around these bodies of water.”
“We are resolute in our efforts,” explains Vassallo. “This is definitely a ZERO-tolerance issue, and a subject that requires ongoing awareness.”
Duckie and Vassallo are delighted the campaign has succeeded in growing support over the 12 years. Thousands have been exposed to floating and other lifesaving skills. “We are very proud to partner with our cities first responders, the health department, prominent news media, fellow businesses and the YMCA to host this important event year-after-year.”
The four-hour event features exhibits, hands-on activities, learn-to-float classes, and open swimming in the YMCA water park.
Duckie receives assistance from the following organizations in promoting water safety: the YMCA, KVVU-Fox-5 Morning Weather Anchor Cassandra Jones, Las Vegas Metro, Mascot McGruff, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, Danny Romero Designs, KTNV-TV13, the APSP, UMC Children’s Hospital, Nevada Highway Patrol, LV Metro Volunteer Police, Pictographics, the City of Las Vegas, the SNCDPC and the SNHD.
