Department of Energy’s Small Business Forum is set for June 2015 in Phoenix, Arizona

DOE2015 focused on increasing small business opportunities within the agency

WASHINGTON - April 9, 2015 - PRLog -- The Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the largest civilian contracting agency within the Federal government will be holding the 14th Annual DOE Small Business Forum & Expo from June 16-18, 2015 at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  The event draws nearly 700 attendees to meet with Federal officials; DOE’s site and facility management contractors, which includes 17 National Laboratories; other small business concerns as well as other Federal agencies.

The forum will host more than 45 distinguished panelists and speakers, including a special session with Federal OSDBU Directors from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), U.S. General Service Administration (GSA).

“The speakers at DOE2015 represent the many aspects of government procurement within the Department of Energy,” said Ms Anita Anderson, Acquisition Specialist for DOE OSDBU.  “It’s important for small business owners to learn from the experts which will improve their understanding of government procurement with our agency.”

DOE2015 will also feature a large Exhibit Hall, as well as business matchmaking sessions for small business owners to discuss their products and services to DOE Federal and prime contractor representatives. DOE awarded over $8.4 billion dollars to prime and subcontracts in fiscal year 2014*. The agency will hold an awards presentation  to honor the Fiscal Year 2014 Secretarial Small Business Award recipients.
