LPU Students won Rs One Lakh in ‘Tata Crucible Quiz Regional Final’

JALANDHAR, India - April 9, 2015 - PRLog -- LPU students have won  regional final of the largest business quiz 'Tata Crucible Quiz-2015'. The competition is organized throughout the country annually by Tata Group in different steps. This quiz is a key knowledge initiative to bring together sharpest minds in the fore-front and on a common platform. Traversing across 34 cities in India, one of the regional rounds of the 11^th edition of the quiz concluded at Lovely Professional University this year. LPU team of mechanical engineering students, Chandra Bhushan & Ravi Kumar Rai, won the regional trophy along with cash prize of Rs one lakh. LPU students outdid all other five competing teams with their prompt and penetrating answers made to ace quiz-master Giri Bala Subramaniam aka Pickbrain. LPU team earned 255 scores whereas the runner up team from NIT Jalandhar trailed with 210 scores.

Being extremely happy on the win, LPU student Chandra Bhushan said: “I and my team member Ravi are from remote parts of the Bihar State. Being in the great study environment of LPU, we have indeed developed ourselves a lot by gathering all types of knowledge. As I also got inspiration from my teachers to go for IAS examination, I thought to try my intellect gathered so far at LPU. None of the other platforms would have judged me well as this Tata Quiz has. We are thankful to the university for believing in us and for shaping us so well.” Ravi shared that they incline to spend huge prize money on their further studies and to donate a few books to the needy students.

LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal awarded the winner and runner up teams with cash prizes, certificates & trophies.  Sharing Mr Mittal said: “It is matter of pride for us to see our students excelling in different fields. LPU not only endeavours to provide vast knowledge to the students but also put in them an ability to communicate their learning in a right and victorious manner.  For such efforts, university has a dedicated ‘Department of Youth Capital’ which aims to tinker well the talents of the students. Putting in hard working and preparing well students, too, keep on bringing laurels to the university from such national and international platforms.”
