PRLog -- Kinetic Farms is designed to teach kids living in America’s food deserts (areas without ready access to quality retail grocery stores) about Aquaponics as an alternative method of food production and also provide fresh vegetables and fruits for those kids impacted. We want to instruct kids on how to grow food in their own communities. This mobile classroom - that has a vegetable and fruit garden, and a solar powered Aquaponics system in a functioning school bus - teaches the raising of edible aquatic species and the production of edible plants to create a symbiotic relationship in which both plants and animals can be produced in the same close-loop system. Aquaponics is our answer. Aquaponics is the method of growing crops and fish together in a re-circulating system, and it’s completely organic because the fish waste is the natural fertilizer (no pesticides). Fish waste is absorbed by vegetation that is used as a nutrient solution for plants growing, cultivating a wonderful condition to grow. The only external input to the system is the food for fish. Both systems complement in practice interdependence. So essentially, if you have fish happy and contented, you have an amazing system that will produce fresh food for you throughout the year.
