By: LaineGabriel LaineGabriel principals, Lisa Miller and James Brown, created The Tenfold Initiative to honor teachers who make great efforts to support their students. Miller’s personal goal is to pay back the generosity of two high school art teachers who helped shaped her future at a time when her dreams of attending college were waning due to financial struggles. “Two of my high school art teachers believed in me enough to personally contribute to my first college courses,” Miller said. “Their encouragement and financial sacrifice have never left my thoughts. I’m fortunate to be able to pay it forward - tenfold.” Four students have been awarded the Tenfold Initiative scholarship since 2011. The second Tenfold Initiative recipient, Ogechukwu Mora, said she would not have been able to attend Rhode Island School of Design without the scholarship. “My experience with Tenfold has been life changing. I hope that one day I will be able to give back in the way she (Lisa) has to the Columbus art community,” Mora said.
