IntelliTec College Launches “Responsive” Website for Mobile Users

April 7, 2015 - PRLog -- IntelliTec College’s new “responsive” website went live on February 12th, 2015. Mobile visitors to the site, which exists at http://www.IntelliTecCollege.com, can now more easily view the “full version” of the website on hand-held devices such as cell phones, smart phones and tablets. Navigation on the new site requires a minimum of resizing and horizontal scrolling for mobile users.

IntelliTec’s website has been “mobile-friendly” since 2008. However, the College previously maintained two separate websites. The mobile device user could only access basic information, while the desktop computer users viewed the full website.

According to Stacey Snyder, Associate Vice President of Admissions & Marketing, “Both current and prospective students will benefit from our responsive website in that no matter what the device (phone, tablet or desktop) they choose to view our site, they'll have the same consistent user experience.”

IntelliTec College recognized the investment in a responsive website was necessary when Internet usage statistics indicated that the number of people using mobile devices to perform website searches and visit websites increased more and more every year.

Statistics Reflect Consumers View Websites on Their Phones at an Increasing Rate

As far back as 2008, experts boldly predicted, “mobile devices [would] overtake fixed Internet access by 2014,” according to Research Analyst Mary Meeker of Kleiner, Perkins, Caufield, and Byers.

In fact, Internet search strategists claim if a website is not mobile-friendly, it may even lose business. At the very least, it could be ranked lower in mobile Google search results, claimed Yuyu Chen, reporter at the online newsletter ClickZ.

·          - As of 2013, mobile phone Internet user growth was 73.4 % globally.

·         -  In 2017, data suggests that more than 90% of Internet users will access online information and content through their phones.
