IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Motor-Scooter International, originally founded in 2010 to promote motor-scooter land-speed trials has, since its first event in November 2010, transformed itself into the the only US organization sponsoring and sanctioning extreme endurance races. In 2013, MSI hosted The Real Cannonball ~ World's Most Extreme Motor-Scooter Endurance Race. The race started from the Red Ball Garage, Manhattan, New York, and finished at the Portofino Hotel, Redondo Beach, California. This was the traditional start/finish of Brok Yates fabled Cannonball ~ Sea-to-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash. Duane Hixon, Ph.D., a Professor of Engineering at the University of Ohio (Dayton), won First Place Overall riding his Aprilia RS50 (70cc)!

On October 2nd 2016, MSI will again present The Real Cannonball starting from the Imperial Beach Pier, Imperial Beach, California, and finishing in the northeastern most city in the United States, Madawaska, Maine. The distance of the ultra-extreme endurance race is more than 3,500 miles (5,632 kilometers)!

To date, five MSI racers have committed to this event: (1) Linda Hurley /  Yamaha 400cc Majesty; (2) Stan Scott / Suzuki AN400 Burgman; (3) Duane Hixon, Ph.D. / Aprilia RS-50; (4) Tom Wheeler / Scooter To Be Announced; and (5) Alan Spears / Broadhurst~North Lambretta.

Entries are now being accepted through MSI's website, and will continue to be accepted until further notice.
