Follow on Google News | Are Police Body Worn Cameras Going Public? There's a new product launching on Kickstarter that will get cops body cameras a lot sooner by harnessing the power of mobile devices. And now, for the first time ever, this product is being made available to the public for fun and recreational use.
By: Functional MobileWear LLC On April 14th via Kickstarter, a Chicago start-up appropriately named, Functional MobileWear (FMW) will take body cameras mainstream. The potential as a mainstream product may be vast as anyone will be able to turn their mobile phone into a body camera with this new product that retails for around $40. bit.ly/ "The United States Army has been testing our tactical prototypes for a while now and after Ferguson we decided to offer them to law enforcement because mobile phones offer the most bang for our tax dollars," said Max Davis the founder of FMW. "We also think the general public will enjoy using their mobile phones as body cameras to capture hands free fun moments from their point of view and then share the action immediately on social media. Your average body camera will not do that," said Mr. Davis. SEED Chicago is hosting a press party at the Chicago Innovation Exchange to help launch this product and a few others on Kickstarter, April 14th. FMW has set aside limited Early-Bird Rewards for those who move quickly to pledge support for this new product. bit.ly/ About Functional MobileWear Functional MobileWear produces affordable mobile device accessories that make mobile phones wearable while functional and quickly accessible at all times.
