KENT, Ohio - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Senior Finance and Accounting major and pitcher for the Kent State Women’s Softball team Emma Johnson was recognized as PNC Achiever of the Game for her excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community. She was recognized at the women’s basketball game at the Mac Center on Feb. 25 against Akron.

“I am honored to receive the PNC award,” said Johnson. “As a Kent State Student-Athlete, I’ve developed many skills including time management, leadership and discipline that has contributed on and off the field. I want to thank my family, coaches and teammates along with the athletic department and College of Business Administration that have helped me along the way.”

Johnson, who wears number 11 on the field, worked off the field with her teammates to rebuild a baseball field in Ravenna. “It was very rewarding to give back to the community,” said Johnson. “Though many members of our team have played on hundreds of baseball fields, none of us have had the opportunity to build one.”

In addition to her community work, Johnson has received Academic All-MAC Honors and made Dean’s list every semester while at Kent State. During her junior year she was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, an honorary society serving business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Johnson will graduate in Spring 2015 and has accepted a job with EY, a multinational professional services firm, in Columbus as an audit staff member.
