Chamber of Commerce & NASA Trade Mission to Brazil

MELBOURNE, Fla. - April 2, 2015 - PRLog -- The Brazil-Florida Chamber of Commerce (BFCC), a bilateral not-for-profit organization fostering business relations between Brazil and Florida, is pleased to announce its upcoming trade mission to host NASA's premier introduction of its Technology Transfer Program to Brazil.

Mr. G. Michael Lester, NASA's R&T Program Partnership Manager, will depart with BFCC Board Director Mr. Jamieson Knowlton for Brazil on April 12th, 2015. Thanks to the sponsorship of Avanth International and the support of Inova Unicamp in the city of Campinas, the Brazil-Florida Chamber of Commerce & NASA Tech Transfer Workshop will be presented on April 14^th in Campinas, Brazil. During this presentation Mr. Lester and Mr. Michaelis will be informing the audiences comprised of Brazilian executives (CEO's, VP's, COO's, etc.) of high-tech firms and Brazilian Universities about the NASA Tech Transfer Program. He will explain how they can partner with NASA to access its patented technologies if they decide to establish companies in the United States. Later in that day, the delegates will visit a local public school where Mr. Lester and Mr Michaelis will share with local students their amazing life experiences aiming to inspire and encourage Brazilian children to pursue STEM careers.

This is the first of two trade missions BFCC will be making to Brazil this year with local entrepreneurs and educators. Their aim is to take advantage of BFCC's current momentum precipitated by a spike in membership growth, a restructuring of the board of directors and a new focus on high-technology and space-related fields.

Mr. Michaelis will be in Brazil for 28 days representing BFCC and its member organizations, working on numerous international projects aimed at bringing more Brazilian companies to the Space Coast region, facilitating the expansion of Floridian companies to Brazil, and educating innovators, entrepreneurs, and students about internationalization and innovation.
