Follow on Google News | Atlanta Best Selling Author Hosts National Sexual Assault Awareness EventHistory of LYVBH: LYVBH originated in 2013 when activist and survivor Kenni York decided to utilize her talent and notoriety to raise awareness. Combined, the first two LYVBH events raised nearly $6000, which was donated to the beneficiary Day League (formerly known as DeKalb Rape Crisis Center. Past sponsors have included Uber, Twainns Billards, Delphine Publications, VMag Tv, and Stella and Dots just to name a few. The objective of the event is simple: to raise funds to aid in providing resources to abuse victims but most importantly to educate our communities about the growing epidemic. The Event Each year LYVBH is presented as a talent showcase, giving gifted, unsigned, creative entities from the Atlanta area an opportunity to display their talent for a worthy cause. Current sponsors include Petty Thoughts Productions, People of Excellence, SWAG Production's Please Don't Kill Me, Mary Kay, and more.This year's event will be held at the W.O.W.W. headquarters located at 115 Martin Luther King Jr Drive Ste 200 Atlanta, GA 30303 (parking available in garage labeled Underground Parking located next to the building). Attendees can expect red carpet photography from 5 PM to 6 PM followed by a plethora of entertainment from 6 PM to 8 PM including monologues, original vocals, poetry, and interpretive dance. Other perks include raffles, networking, freebies, and light refreshments. This year's proceeds will benefit Voice Today, Inc., a non-profit organization (founded by Angela Williams) that is dedicated to providing awareness, prevention and healing programs and resources. THE VOICE MOVEMENT was designed to promote social change in order to protect the innocence of the next generation of children. "I believe in being a person that makes a difference and not just a dollar," states Kenni York. "It's my responsiblity to give back to my community and be a part of the solution!"
