Dr. Steven Santolin Attends American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Council Symposium

JOLIET, Ill. - April 1, 2015 - PRLog -- The keynote speaker Dr. Greg Rose is a chiropractic physician and engineer and founder of the Titleist Performance Institute. He presented on The Body-Swing Connection & Rehab in Golf.

He explored the connection between golf swing characteristics and physical parameters. He discussed how motor control issues are the leading cause of musculoskeletal injuries in golf and in most sports. Information will be provided on how to identify these altered movement patterns and how they will express themselves in a golf swing.

Attendees learned advanced golf swing biomechanics and golf swing terminology. This will assist them in communicating with their local golf professionals. Swing characteristics such as sway, slide, over-the-top, casting and reverse-spine angle were covered in detail. After taking this workshop, the medical professional is now more comfortable addressing golf swing related injuries and know how to build a treatment program and treatment team to help get the player back in action as soon as possible.

Sue Falsone PT, MS, ATC who was the former head athletic trainer for the LA Dodgers baseball team presented on assessment and rehab of the athletic shoulder.

Jon Mulholland, DC, CCSP, CSCS did a presentation entitled A Systematic Method to Assess & Treat Lower Extremity Injuries”
