Women Learned How To Win, Rock, Rule Their Careers

Dee C. Marshall (Coach/Author), Michellene Davis, Esq (Executive V.P. of Corporate Affairs, Barnabas Health) and Gale Britton (V.P. Diversity and Inclusion, Prudential) host an elite panel of women that share how they Win, Rock, Rule their careers.
 
March 31, 2015 - PRLog -- On March 25, 2015 in honor of Women’s History Month Barnabas Health and Prudential Insurance Company joined forces with Coach, Author, TV Personality and Essence Contributor Dee Marshall to empower and network with women that aspire to be power players at the Renaissance Woodbridge Hotel in Iselin, NJ.   Barnabas is the second-largest private employer in New Jersey, they have more than 20,000 employees and over 5,000 physicians – they are one-fifth of the actively practicing physicians in New Jersey.  Prudential is one of the largest Life Insurance companies in the U.S.  They have held The National Association for Female Executives magazine's "Top Companies for Executive Women" in 2014 and 14 prior years.  “Win, Rock, Rule event was everything that attendees were promised and more,” says Prudential Executive Gale Britton. “How could you not support an event that that empowers and celebrates women?”

Win, Rock & Rule is an annual event and attendees had access to network with women that have broken barriers that were never obtained, they are the F.O.’s (FIRST and/or ONLY) in their positions.  Dee Marshall kicked off the conference with encouraging women to Win, Rock, Rule their lives.  Women raved about her “future you” exercise.  Participants selected ribbons with business titles that depict their future selves; this included titles of Judge, Educator, Senior Vice President and more.  The first panel discussion was moderated by Michellene Davis, Esq., Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Barnabas Health.  Among her many F.O.’s she is the first Woman and the first African American to hold the position at Barnabas Health.  The Honorable Dana Redd, Mayor of Camden New Jersey spoke about her role as Mayor of Camden.  This was followed by the most talked about panel discussion with: Barnabas Health VP of Healthy Living & Community Engagement, Barbara Mintz, Regional Administrator, U.S. Small Business Administrator, Kellie LeDet, Financial Professional, The Prudential Insurance Company of America, Maddie S. Brooks, Fitness Expert, Get Fit with Nik, Nikki Kimbrough, Financial Educator & Best Selling Author, Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche.  The women shared their stories from hardship to success.  Kellie LeDet encouraged women to begin preparing now for where they are going.  Working in a government capacity your background is important, she also offered to meet with them and help prepare for a government life and even shared the kind of process that happens when you are a Presidential Appointee.  One common theme is they all followed their passion and it led them to success.

The Honorable Judge Victoria Pratt received the Trailblazer Award for being the First Dominican Judge in the City of Newark, NJ.  Toya Beasley received the Game Changer Award, she is one of New York;s top radio personalities and founder/CEO of SistaFriendzTM a Nonprofit Organization established to educate, equip and empower women for success in their personal and professional lives.   Fatima Scipio the CEO of Young Enterprising Sisters (YES) an entrepreneurial program for girls ages 8-17 that educates, empowers and energizes the next generation of business owners/entrepreneurs, she was acknowledged as a Power Player for her work with young girls..
