The Lobby’s ‘Wentelteefjes’ best in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM - March 26, 2015 - PRLog -- The Foodie List, a Canadian TV show, is currently touring Amsterdam with local bloggers highlighting the top places to dine and what you simply must eat while you are in Amsterdam.

Their first stop? The Lobby Restaurant & Bar (www.thelobby-amsterdam.nl)

Their first meal? Wentelteefjes! (a real Amsterdammer version of french toast)

The Lobby Restaurant & Bar is the ground-floor restaurant of Hotel V nesplein. Celebrating its 2 year anniversary this month, the restaurant has quickly become known as an excellent place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks- not just for tourists and hotel guests (and even guests from other hotels in the area), but also for many edgy Amsterdammers who are regular weekly visitors.

In fact, when plans for the hotel were under way, the goal was always to make The Lobby one of the best breakfast spots in Amsterdam. Shying away from the standard and impersonal hotel “buffet breakfast”, guests of Hotel V nesplein are served an a la carte menu consisting of breakfast and brunch favourites such as Eggs Benedict, pancakes, and of course: Wentelteefjes. Add to that friendly staff and late breakfast hours (until 4 pm, nearly unheard of in Amsterdam), and it’s no wonder that The Lobby always makes the lists of best places to breakfast or brunch in the city.
