HGTV's "House Hunters" Makes First Visit to Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. - March 24, 2015 - PRLog -- On Wednesday, April 1, one of HGTV’s most watched shows, House Hunters, will air their first ever episode shot in Buffalo, New York. The episode features HUNT Real Estate ERA sales professional, Brian Szkatulski, as he assists his clients in finding the ideal home for their needs.

HGTV describes House Hunters as a show that takes viewers behind the scenes as individuals, couples and families learn what to look for and decide whether or not a home is meant for them. Focusing on the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home, each episode shows the process as buyers search for a home.

“To be able to expose a national audience to the city of Buffalo and it’s distinctive neighborhoods and real estate was an amazing opportunity,” said Szkatulski.

Szkatulski’s clients, first time homebuyers Lindsey Zaffarano and Chris DeMarchis, searched for nearly five months before finding the home that they ultimately purchased. “It was a waste of money to keep renting,” Zaffarano said, citing the affordability of Erie County real estate as their primary factor for buying. Their desire to have a larger home to allow their out-of-town family to stay with them was another key reason for their desire to purchase.

When asked about the role Szkatulski, their Realtor, played in the process, DeMarchis and Zaffarano both commented, “Brian was an invaluable resource for us in finding our first home. It was exciting to be able to share this awesome journey with him and have it captured on video.”

Szkatulski, Zaffarano and DeMarchis are planning a watch party on April 1 in Orchard Park with about 75 of their friends and family. “The whole process of working with Lindsey, Chris and HGTV was an amazing experience. I can’t wait to see how the episode turns out,” Szkatulski said.
