Follow on Google News | Kobina Wright’s Solo Exposition Needs New VenueA search is underway for a venue of Wright’s second solo show, an event to take place this summer.
By: Selah Haki For the past month, Wright and her team has been spreading the word about the show “STATIC!” – to garner support for the coming crowd funding campaign in June. The solo show to be exhibited is a collection of Wright’s abstract work inspired by the death and FBI cover-up of Fred Hampton and the historical struggle against racial oppression. Wright is an American writer, artist, actress and language creator. She is known primarily for her poetry and abstract art which is constantly evolving. Wright is the creator of the Hodaoa-Anibo language which she began to develop in 2003 and published “The Hodaoa-Anibo Dictionary.” Wright has also been published in several literary magazines including, Torrid Literature Journal, Blackberry and SNReview. She has published the second edition of the “Abridged Hodaoa-Anibo Dictionary” and last year, spoke at the X13 Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. This month her work was among a collection of global art works exhibited at the RR Gallery at St. Peter’s Church, Kensington Park Road, Notting Hill, in London.
