Forum Of Indian Food Importers Celeberate 5th Annual Reception During Ahaar 2015-Residence of France

It was an event organized by FIFI ( Forum of Indian Food Importers) with glitz and Glamour .The most high profile people in the International F&B trade attended the event to invigorate FIFI.

March 22, 2015 - PRLog -- The event was co-hosted by the Ambassador of France Mr. François Richier along with Mr. Amit Lohani, FIFI.

The Guest of Honor were Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development Mr. Marek Sawicki, High Commissioner of Canada Mr. Nadir Patel , Ambassador of Belgium Mr. Jan Luykx ,Ambassador of Poland Mr. Tomasz Lukaszuk ,Ambassador of Tunisia Mr. Tarek Azouz. The guest list included all Embassies, Ministry officials, Trade commissions, chefs, Retails Giants, Hoteliers and FIFI members.

The event was covered by all news channels and media. FIFI represents Food & Beverage Importers from India. The objective of FIFI is a common platform for promoting, encouraging & Supporting Food Importers from India and for development and facilitation of Trade. The organizations aim is to highlight issues like Non Tariff Barriers, High Custom Duties, FSSAI laws & Inter-state Taxations. The forum also presents a united front to Different Government bodies, Business forums, trade commission’s & International chambers.

On the Occasion Mr. Amit Lohani (Convenor) of FIFI said "FIFI as an APEX body representing Food Importers in India thanks its members for the entrepreneurial skills which contribute to 2.1 Billion US$ worth of buying power. Our members have been instrumental in creating new categories and quality benchmarks in food & Beverage industry.”

The French Ambassador Mr. Francois Congratulated FIFI on its endeavor to bring together the constituents of the International F&B trade and invited FIFI to host a similar event at his residence next year .He also stated that India needs to have a more open F&B sector allowing French products like Dairy , wines and artisanal products.

The Minister of Agriculture gave his thanks to FIFI and Mr. Lohani for inviting him for this august gathering. He stressed on the need of collaboration of FIFI with Polish Embassy to promote various F&B products from his country. The Ambassador of Poland Mr. Lukaszuk informed the trade of opening new avenue of trade between Indian importers and Polish exporters.

The Canadian High commissioner Mr. Nadir Patel emphasized the need of such a body which gives a platform to all trade embassies for a legitimate trade representative and a database of genuine importers. He was also overwhelmed by such a large presence of dignitaries to support FIFI.

Ambassador of Belgium Mr. Jan Luykx invited FIFI and its members for a large role in the F&B trade with Belgium. He reiterated his support to promote product from his country and the quality of high value imports in India.

The Tunisian ambassador Mr. Tarek Azouz accentuated that FIFI members should focus on Tunisian products especially olive oil and offer the best quality products of Exporters from Tunisia. He highlighted the significance of Tunisia in the Olive oil sector and its prominence in World Olive oil market.

FIFI has been bringing forward Critical issues faced by this industry specially increased levels of regulation without any Risk Bases analysis on labeling, product approval, 100% sampling. FIFI has given various Representations to FSSAI, on the concerns of the importers and the issues currently being delay by the F&B Trade.
