This event celebrates women who have excelled in nontraditional fields. Barbara Armand founded the Armand Corporation in 1991. This construction firm has served an impressive amount of reputable companies, public authorities, and government agencies in New York. Deputy Inspector Olufunmilo F.Obe joined the New York City Police Department in 1994. She has served her city as a sergeant, lieutenant, and captain. She completed her transition to deputy inspector in June 2012. Audra Fordin is the fourth generation owner of Great Bear Auto Repair and Auto Body Shop. Her dad taught her how to perform basic repairs when she was twelve years old. “Cars have always been fascinating to me,” said Audra. “It’s neat how engines contain all these little pieces that work together for a single purpose.” Audra’s mission is to help women feel less anxious about auto repair. She tripled the size of her shop’s customer base within months of taking over by serving the female market. Audra’s reach goes beyond the walls of Great Bear Auto Repair. She is in the process of completing her first Kindle book, which will help women overcome auto anxiety and become confident drivers.
