Amii Sloan is a thirty-something year old woman going through a reflective period in her life. Nothing seems to matter anymore to her with the exception of her mother, who is living in an assisted living facility -- one Amii's pays for. One night at a party, Amii's is perused by a man she cannot stand --Ryan Maine. Years earlier, Ryan cross examined Amii at the trial of her younger sister's killer, and she has despised him ever since. Ryan offers a solution to all of Amii's immediate problems, including a personal assistant job at his home in the picturesque town of Unity. Amii feels she has no choice but accept, but that doesn't mean she has to like it! But the more time she spends with her handsome, successful boss, the more she realizes he is not the monster she imagined him once to be, and that if she can let her guard down long enough, there might be a chance of a future together.
