Tulsa Children's Chorus Transcends from Spring 2015 Tour to St. Louis

TULSA, Okla. - March 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Tulsa Children’s Chorus has returned from their Spring 2015 Tour to St. Louis, MO. The choir left early on the morning of March 6 for a weekend full of activities and a combined concert with the nationally acclaimed St. Louis Children’s Choirs. Upon arrival in St. Louis, the Tulsa Children’s Chorus visited the St. Louis City Museum. The museum was designed by renowned artist Bob Cassilly and made from reclaimed building materials such as old chimneys, two abandoned planes and miles of tiles. On Saturday, the Tulsa Children’s Chorus visited the top of the St. Louis Arch and explored the city's Science Center.

As the highlight of this year's tour, the Tulsa Children’s Chorus participated in collaborative choral artistry with the St. Louis Children’s Choirs at Washington University 560 Music Center through the traditional Family & Friends Concert on Saturday evening. The performances featured four choral groups from the St. Louis Children’s Choir and the Tulsa Children’s Chorus. Each ensemble presented three songs from a diversified selection of choral repertoire. As the evening came to a close, the St. Louis Children’s Choirs' theme song, We Gather Here Together, was jointly sung by all the choirs along with alumni of the St. Louis Children’s Choir. The talent and artistry of all our young vocalists is positively astounding and they provided to the community an evening that was rich in sound and sacred in music.

A visit to the St. Louis Zoo took place on Sunday followed by game night for the travelers. Before heading home on Monday, the Tulsa Children’s Chorus stopped at the Fitz’s Root Beer Bottling Company for lunch and games. The Spring 2015 Tour provided the Tulsa Children’s Chorus with many exceptional learning venues, both educationally and vocally. The opportunity to travel and sing in unfamiliar places instills a new level of confidence in performance for our young singers. A wholehearted thank you to the St. Louis Children’s Choirs for their warm welcome and the opportunity to join our voices in choral harmony.
