FREEHOLD, N.J. - March 14, 2015 - PRLog -- The Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association is celebrating their 75th Anniversary in March with a host of private events including a luncheon for law enforcement members to be held at the Raven and the Peach in Fair Haven later this month.  The Association has invited a variety of supporters and dignitaries to attend the affair to acknowledge and celebrate the countless accomplishments of the Association and it’s members since their incorporation on March 14, 1940.

Initially established to standardize police procedures, foster inter-departmental collaboration, and ongoing training, members of the Association, including departments in towns throughout Monmouth County, have not only provided training and leadership for law enforcement personnel, but have also excelled in community outreach and support through a number of local programs for students with an interest in law enforcement.  By establishing scholarship programs for college-bound students and providing internships at participating police departments, the Association has been able to provide opportunities in law enforcement for younger members of the communities they serve.

According to Terance Mahon, President of the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association, “Ours is an organization committed to providing the best training for law enforcement personnel in our departments and to instill in them the professionalism and pride that are important components of successful policing.”  The Association has been successful in maintaining these goals through involvement with the Monmouth County Policy Academy, which utilizes instructors from member departments, as well as the Prosecutor’s and Sheriff’s Departments in Monmouth County.

Another important aspect of the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association is their support of several local community organizations, through fundraising efforts and charitable donations from generous supporters.  The Association has been able to provide financial assistance to organizations such as 180 Turning Lives Around and the Monmouth County Child Advocacy Center, both in Freehold.

Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association is a 501 (c)(3) organization and plans fundraisers and events throughout the year including the 2015 Monmouth County Police Chief’s Golf Outing to be held on May 5, 2015 at the Hollywood Gold Club in Deal.  For more information on participation and sponsorships for these events, please visit their website http://monmouthchiefs.org/sponsorships/annual-golf-outing/ or contact Chief John Sorrentino of Sea Bright Police at 732-842-0010.
