Swim For Free at Miller YMCA Through March

NEWBURY PARK, Calif. - March 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Now through March 31, community members can swim for free at the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park.

         The seven-year-old indoor pool recently went through extensive upgrades. “Now is the time to enjoy our pool while doing something good for your body and overall health,” says Kara Hensley, the Miller Y’s healthy living and aquatics director. “Swimming is an excellent source of exercise. Just 30 minutes of swimming daily has shown to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by 40 percent. It improves lung capacity, posture, balance and flexibility. Plus, it’s a great way to lower stress.”

         Pool hours are Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 9:45 p.m., Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m., Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Lifeguards are on duty. All children under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
