Pillar Hotels & Resorts General Manager Receives Patriotic Employer Award

IRVING, Texas - March 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Pillar Hotels & Resorts is proud to announce that Martha Trammell, General Manager at Residence Inn Houston Intercontinental Airport at Greenspoint, has received a Patriotic Employer Award. The award is presented by the Secretary of Defense - Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) to supervisors who make an effort to support military personnel through a wide range of measures, including flexible scheduling, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absence if needed.

Don Manuel, spouse of Martha's team member, Jayda Manuel, nominated Martha for the award during his deployment to Afghanistan. While Don was oversees for a year, Jayda took care of their three daughters while working full-time at Residence Inn Houston-Greenspoint.

Martha got to know Jayda and her three daughters on a personal level, and they became great friends. Jayda was open with Martha about her schedule and needs with regards to motherhood and staying in touch with Don, and Martha listened and worked with her to get around any challenges. The couple was so floored by Martha's understanding and compassion during this time, that Don submitted the nomination without her knowledge.
