By: Cumberland Christian History will come to life March 17th as Cumberland Christian School elementary students transform their classrooms into a history museum as part of the school’s Open House History Fair. Each classroom has picked a theme. Arwen Sunderland’s 3rd grade class is studying the history of Nebraska, their teacher’s home state. Each student picked a famous person from Nebraska's history, or a well known place or landmark. They will each create a poster, diorama, or model to share what they have learned. They will have foods from Nebraska to share with those who come to visit the Open House such as, Dorothy Lynch salad dressing, popcorn made in Nebraska, bison jerky, and Nebraska beef summer sausage. Other classroom themes include New Jersey, Native Americans, Statue of Liberty, the Revolutionary War and more. The Middle school students will celebrate “Leadership & Legacy” as their part in the History Fair. Each student is conducting a project on a leader and the legacy they have left on society from Abraham Lincoln to Martin Luther King Jr. This is a Great opportunity to tour the Cumberland Christian School campus and learn how you can become part of history in the making at Cumberland Christian School. All are invited to the open house March 17th from 6:30-8:30pm to explore the History Fair. An Open House will also be held during the day from 9 am-3pm. Located at 1100 W.
