Fitness Boot Camp Centered Around Faith Arrives In Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas - March 10, 2015 - PRLog -- A recent study shows that men and women who attend church or Bible study once per week are 50% more likely to be obese than the general population. And this was no small study. This study tracked 3,433 people for 18 years. So what does this mean for the church? Ken Ferraro, the lead researcher of the study says, “America is becoming a nation of gluttony and obesity and churches are a feeding ground for this problem.”

FORT WORTH, Texas – Feb. 24, 2015 – Recently, a pastor in Texas shared that his church health premiums doubled in 2012 because one staff member developed several diseases related to diet and lifestyle. The obesity epidemic is constricting church budgets and taking away from the finances for other ministries like missions, both globally and locally. Isn’t this the purpose of the church, to move?

Because of the growing rate of obesity in America and specifically in the church, Joe LoGalbo, founder of the faith-based fitness boot camp, Heavenly Bodies Boot Camp has devoted himself to seeing lives transformed; body, mind, and spirit.

“The ‘over-weight’ church is losing more than just money over staff medical problems. In fact, they are losing one of the greatest gifts they have to share with the world, which is their witness. All because of the blatant ‘problem’ around their midsection” says LoGalbo.

Another study performed in 2001 found a clergy of 2,500 people 76% more overweight or obese compared to the general population (at the time) of 61%. What does this mean about the church? LoGalbo says in order for the entire nation to break the chains of this obesity epidemic, which is also causing diabetes, heart disease, and the source of many cancers… the church needs to take action.

James 2:15 -16 says, “if a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, be warmed and be filled’ and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?”

“I take that verse and apply it to fitness and the church” says LoGalbo. “We need to get healthier, we need to exercise and take control of our nutrition. If I don’t supply at least that for the church, then what use am I? This became the start of Heavenly Bodies Boot Camp.”

Heavenly Bodies Boot Camp is launching the grand opening for their outdoor fitness boot camp March 16th – March 20th with free classes. Class hours are held at 6:00 am and 8:00 am. Both boot camp classes last for one hour and are filled with challenging workouts in an uplifting and fun environment.

“Just because this is a spiritual boot camp doesn’t mean we don’t bring it when it comes to workouts. Our workouts are designed to challenge any individual no matter their unique fitness level. So please, experience this one of a kind boot camp for yourself.”

Heavenly Bodies Boot Camp’s outdoor location is located at 4901 N Main, at the Pybsa Fields behind The Creek Churchin Saginaw. Be sure to bring a water bottle, comfortable workout clothes, and a towel or yoga mat and the rest of the equipment will be provided for you.
