This Week on Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend: YouTube Star Mamrie Hart

LOS ANGELES - March 9, 2015 - PRLog -- In March of 2014, YouTuber comedienne Mamrie Hart made her first appearance on the top-ranked comedy podcast Alison Rosen Is Your New Best Friend with her fellow YouTube cohorts Hannah Hart and Grace Helbig to discuss their debut film, Camp Takota. A year later, Mamrie Hart is back with Alison Rosen for a candid interview two days following her big announcement that the fan favorite #HeyUSA tour will be back for a second season.

Alison covers many topics regarding Mamrie’s life that qualifies this episode as a must-listen for Mamrie Hart fans. For a woman who now has a book written detailing blowjob tales, she told Alison that growing up she was actually “on the straight and narrow”, and a Type A personality.

“I was a funny kid, I wasn’t a class clown though because I was always afraid of getting in trouble (0:16:50). My brother and sister were the wild ones, they didn’t finish high school, so I was in the mindset of ‘just get through high school for the sake of your mother’s sanity’. (0:19:27)”

Mamrie was raised by her mother in the small town of Boonville, North Carolina (population 1,200). “My mom is the sweetest Southern woman of all time. Just, like, the quintessential mom. I’ve heard her curse maybe five times. (0:12:54)”

The apple, in this case, fell pretty far from the tree. Mamrie has been producing her famous YouTube series You Deserve A Drink for almost four years now, which highlights her comedy centering around sexual innuendos and pop culture, all while delivering a mixology lesson making unique cocktails and dedicating them to someone in pop culture who deserves a drink for that week. She has been appropriately coined “A drinking star with a YouTube problem”.

“Every couple of months I’ll get a text from my dad that says ‘Could you maybe tone it down? Like, maybe not use as many curse words?’(0:13:16)”

Her new memoir You Deserve A Drink: Booziness Adventures And Tales Of Debauchery is grounded in the same spirit as her popular YouTube series.

“It’s essentially a collection of real stories that have happened to me and each chapter has a cocktail recipe that correlates with it. (0:10:14)” The book is due to release May 26^th.
