GURGAON, India - March 8, 2015 - PRLog -- IPSAA Day Care Gurgaon celebrated International women’s day at their campus on Sunday. The celebration was attended by the mothers of the children enrolled in IPSAA along with the female staff of the day care.

This year’s theme was 'make it happen', a theme aimed at encouraging effective action for advancing and recognizing women. And we do need to make it happen; in the workplaces where women still earn less than men; in the offices where women are rarely promoted; in the countries where women are regularly sexually abused and forced into marriage, and for the girls who are still forced to undergo female genital mutilation.

The celebrations started off by honoring the women’s with flowers followed by a short address by Ms Kanchan Mittal, Founder, IPSAA. In her address she highlighted that even though we have come a long way since independence and achieved milestones but as far as women empowerment is concerned India is still lagging behind. She urged that being a women is the most beautiful thing on this earth, we all have to gear up and fight for our rights and equality in the society

“The ability to nurture life makes woman the most powerful and strongest being. She can play different roles with ease be it that of a dutiful wife, obedient daughter (http://www.indiaparenting.com/pregnancy/338_2619/mother-t...), caring mother (http://www.indiaparenting.com/preconception/107_80/being-...) or adoring sister. Women now are more empowered and aware of their rights (http://www.indiaparenting.com/womens-issues/177_659/womens-rights.html) and the society has accepted their stand. The society is changing and paving way for the growth of the women. The changes can be seen in the fields of education, healthcare, equality and job opportunity. The new decade has seen a marked change in attitude towards women at large. Women have made strides in every field like politics, space exploration” said Kanchan Mittal, Founder, IPSAA Day Care.

This address was followed by a self-defense session for the participants and ended with a dance performance by few participants.
