NEW YORK - March 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater (AGDT) was founded in 1977. Its large, varied repertoire includes diverse styles and music ranging from classical American and European music to Mexican pre-Columbian instruments and nature sounds.  Critically acclaimed by major newspapers, AGDT appeared at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Carnegie Hall, and in prestigious festivals including Joseph Papp’s Latin Festival in NY and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors. It led a US State Department program in the Dominican Republic. It has performed and taught dance locally and nationally. Educational programs uniquely are available in English, Spanish and French. AGDT videos can be viewed at Lincoln Center’s Performing Arts Library. It has been awarded repeat grants by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council on the Arts, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Mexican Consulate in New York, Mexican Cultural Institute of New York and Harkness Foundation for Dance, among others. In Mexico, it has appeared at the important international festivals of Chihuahua and San Luís Potosí, at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and Museo del Templo Mayor in Mexico City, and at the University of Colima. Awards include an ACE Quintero and an official Mayoral Proclamation.

Founder Annabella Gonzalez studied ballet, modern, Mexican and other dance forms in her native Mexico, the United States and Europe where she performed with “Theatre de l’Atelier” (Workshop Theater) in Geneva, Switzerland, touring in Switzerland and France.  She co-directed the New Choreographers Ensemble before creating AGDT.  She has choreographed over 70 dances premiered in NYC with her Latin Classicism including modern, experimental and comedic works.  Appearances in prestigious festivals include those ofJoseph Papp’s Latin Festival in New York and Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, and her Company has been showcased in major international festivals in Mexico since 2009.

Annabella Gonzalez holds a B.A. in Art History from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in Dance Education from Columbia University Teachers College where she was asked to create a new course, Traditional Mexican Dance, which she taught there for four years (1993-96). Her Mexican background and knowledge of traditional Mexican dances enrich her work and appeal to both Hispanic and non Hispanic populations, and her trilingual ability in English, Spanish and French enable her to reach out to diverse communities in these languages.

Ms. Broderick appeared regularly for eight years on weekend morning financial segments for WABC Eyewitness News. She has appeared on Good Day New York, WNBC, CNBC, CNN, Fox Business News, Bloomberg, NY1 and WOR Radio discussing tax-related issues. She has interviewed with top financial publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Wealth Manager.

Ms. Broderick completed her TV Producer’s Certification at Manhattan Neighborhood Network and launched her own talk/variety show, GingerNewYork. Segments of the show are aired LIVE at the MNN studios and taped at the Gibson Guitar showroom/Rehearsal Studios in New York City.

Broderick is a faculty member of Queens College/CUNY Continuing Education Program. Broderick obtained a B.S. degree in accounting from St. John’s University in New York City and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York.
