CityMusicDeal(™) to launch in a city near you

ROCKVILLE, Md. - March 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Altavoz is launching  a music distribution program to allow cities to take advantage of the diverse and rich musical talent pools that exist across the United States. The programs will be in each city direct with artists, bands and labels, and will have local brand Ambassadors, Sponsors and Partners working with local Chamber of Commerces, Arts Advocacy Groups, local governments and the Mayors to promote their local music in all forms on the national and international stage exported as US Made Music.

CityMusicDeal.com will help to identify and expose emerging artists in the top music cities across the U.S.  This program is modeled after the Seattle Music Initiative that started in series of meetings held in Seattle back in  2007. It expresses a vision and development strategy for Seattle’s music industry and the larger community for the year 2020.   They identified that building bridges between the music, business and university communities ensured the future of Seattle that was tied to it’s music.   (Seattle City of Music vision document (http://www.cityofmusic.com/assets/files/Seattle%20City%20...). )

Altavoz CEO Nelson Jacobsen said, “After observing several city experiences with music and the value placed upon the cultural, economic vibe that clearly comes from each city’s music, Altavoz and it’s partners came to understand that we needed deals specialized by city.  Hence a CityMusicDeal will be developed in each city to attract and keep artists by giving them access to distribution without having to leave town.”

The first city to launch the program is the city that was the inspiration behind Seattle’s effort, Austin, Tx., as AustinMusicDeal.com. Altavoz believes the time is right to help cities like Austin that have identified music as a key driver for their local economy. Kevin Sarmiento joins to Altavoz team, as a City Music Deal Ambassador, to lead the program in Austin, which will make its debut at SXSW in April. Kevin will ensure the program build the program with local partners that believe music is an important part of Austin’s “weirdness” and rich cultural heritage.
