Musician R.G. Dempster Inspires Positivity In The Motor City

DETROIT - March 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Birmingham, Michigan, March 5th, 2015 - Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Robert Dempster (http://www.rgdempster.com) began his artistic career at age 16. The self-taught artist and painter soon learned a year later that he also had a talent for music. As the lead singer for local band The Wha?, they opened for legendary proto punk group the MC5 at the Grande Ballroom in 1966. The Wha? broke up soon after in 1968, but this only fueled Dempster's passion for singing and songwriting.

In 1971, Dempster founded the Renaissance Art Gallery in Detroit, what Detroiters now know as the Pegasus restaurant in Greektown. In 1974, Dempster moved to Birmingham, a Metro-Detroit city, where he opened his own art and music venue. In addition to creating music, he still pursues the visual arts and creates advertisements and logos for local businesses. In 2010, he founded Studio D, an art, music, and film gallery located in the Rail District of Birmingham.

As a musician, Dempster achieved international success and has reached audiences both formally and informally from studio D to other grand venues. His new single, "Blue Skies, Yellow Sun" was recorded with the help of four-time Grammy award winning music producer, Michael Powell. The song is an extension of Dempster's dedication to helping others and projecting positivity.
