Women's Empowerment Event - International Women’s Day
By: Women Auto Know
This workshop is part of an International Women’s Day celebration organized by Brookhaven Women in Science. The event will include group discussion about women’s issues such as gender inequality and workshops about finance, health/fitness, and auto knowledge.
Audra hopes to help women feel less anxious about auto repair. Students will walk away with a better understanding of their vehicle and preventive measures that will reduce their auto maintenance budget significantly. Audra believes that there are thousands of great local shops across America that care about their customers and that drivers should know what to look for in a mechanic.
There is nothing gender specific about being a great auto mechanic. “Audra reminded us of the stereotype messages we’ve been brainwashed by. She has been under the hood of a car since she was twelve years old. She increased her fourth generation family owned business by over 33% in just two years by addressing the female market.
Audra is currently writing a Kindle book that will be just another channel to get the message of all drivers “auto know” more about one of the most important and valuable assets they own.
This event is free and open to the public. Visit Stony Brook University online (http://calendar.activedatax.com/
