Award-Winning Filmmaker Kryzz Gautier Premieres New Film "Not A Love Story"
By: Kryzz Gautier
"This film is meant to celebrate those special people who come into our life, spin our world on its head, and leave it that way even long after they're gone."
Gautier wrote and directed the 2012 award-winning short film "A Foolish Companion", which earned "Best Screenplay" and "Best Short Film" at the First Annual 'Women in Shorts' Film Festival, the "Audience Award" at 'Emerson's National Broadcasting Society' Film Festival, and was an official selection of the 'Short Film Corner' at the Cannes Film Festival, as well as 'Todo Cine, Todo Dominicana' in Madrid, Spain.
"For me, film is the most powerful medium because it is the most efficient way to delve into the human heart and psyche. The screen presents us with the opportunity to explore and present human existence in its rawest form, one story and character at a time."
In addition to the launch of a festival run for "Not A Love Story", Gautier was also listed as one of NBC's 'Top 100 Directors' for their annual Directing Fellowship in 2014, and she is currently wrapping up post-production on her first feature film, a gritty drama titled "All Lit Up."
Regarding the 'Mujeres en Cortos' (Women in Shorts) Film Festival in her native Santo Domingo, D.R., Gautier says, "It's quite humbling to be recognized and repeatedly asked back by the biggest short film festival in my country. Having the opportunity to present my work amongst the best the Dominican cinema has to offer is one of the proudest and most fulfilling moments of my career."
