In the product’s first weeks, sales increased significantly and also created a lift in sales of the company’s four other single SKUs at nearby conventional and natural stores. Co-founder Matt Kiene said that this result builds on the company’s current momentum. He said, “We’re proud to be part of Costco’s efforts to offer healthy foods that don’t compromise on quality, taste or convenience. That combination is a homerun for Costco members.”
Costco sales have been supported with in-store sampling and appearances by Lawrence “LoJack” Jackson, former NFL defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions. Jackson became an investor after making Homemade harvey a part of his fitness regimen.
Each 4.5-ounce pouch offers about two servings of chewable fruit, low in fat, rich in antioxidants (Vitamins A and C) and free from added sugars and preservatives. The Costco Mango/Pineapple/
Co-founder Theresa Kiene explained, “Our motto is ‘100% pure fruit — 0% bad stuff’. It was a healthy surprise for Costco members who were looking for hidden sugars or preservatives. It’s fun when people realize that Homemade harvey is really as wholesome as it tastes.”
Visitors to Natural Products Expo West 2015 in Anaheim can see Homemade harvey in the New Product Showcase and demonstrated as part of PPI Technologies at Booth #1970.
