Ask the Experts at DBSA-GC's 16th Annual Symposium

CHICAGO - March 3, 2015 - PRLog -- This conference is hosted by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance - Greater Chicago. The 16^th Annual Symposium is designed for consumers of services, family, and friends of persons with mood disorders. For this year’s Symposium, the experts will explore psychotropic medications, coping, and talk therapy styles & effectiveness. The speakers will share their work in this field, both from scientific studies and interactions with patients & clients. Mental health professionals attending the event are eligible for six CEUs. During the “Ask the Experts” session, there will be a short Q & A. We are pleased to present:

Dr. Marketa Marvanova – Associate Professor of Neurology & Psychiatry in Chicago State University College of Pharmacy and Adjunct Associate Professor of Neurology in Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Alessandra Passarotti - Director of the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the Institute for Juvenile Research.

Naoki Nakamura – Chair and Recruitment Leader, DBSA Illinois Grassroots Organization (DBSA IL GO).

Dr. Michael Maslar – Director of Mindfulness and Behavioral Therapies at The Family Institute at Northwestern University.

Dr. Corey Goldstein – Assistant Professor of the Treatment Research Center at Rush University Medical Center and a medical advisor to DBSA-GC. He will also moderate the Ask the Experts Q&A.

Registration:   $25 for students to $85 for a non-member family. Ticket prices increase $15 after April 17th.
