Noted San Diego-based Acoustic Rocker Brings CD Release Show to Chicago

CHICAGO - March 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Noted San Diego-based and former Chicago-area resident acoustic rock singer-songwriter Scott Samuels' "Fabulous Reality!" CD Release Show will be held at Uncommon Ground on Devon, 1401 W. Devon Ave., on March 21st, at 9:30pm. This is Samuels’ fifth solo appearance in the Chicago area, since he embarked on a solo career in 2012, and the first that will feature the guitar work of Bernie Bernhoft, whose Flood Brothers band has shared the bill with Samuels several times during shows in Milwaukee.

“Fabulous Reality!” is Samuels' fourth solo CD, and features an eclectic set of tunes, from his signature power-pop sound to a ukulele ballad, to “four-on-the-floor” rock, to a Frank and Nancy Sinatra cover.  He will be performing songs from all four his solo albums, including his acclaimed signature ballad, “The Fall”, which chronicles the rise and rapid decline of a fictitious love relationship against the backdrop of a Beverly Hills department store.

From 2000-2010, Samuels led Roxy Monoxide, a well-known band amongst aficionados of the power-pop genre of rock n’ roll. Throughout his life, Samuels’ love for rock and roll’s “hidden treasure” and his unique ability to recount the quirkiest milestones of live, love and career, has fueled his songwriting and performances.  His simple, honest and unpretentious vocal style has drawn comparisons to Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum, and Elvis Costello, among others.  Over the years, Samuels has performed alongside such artists as The Fixx, Steve Wynn & Miracle Three, Bow Wow Wow, Third Eye Blind, D-Generation, Tommy Keene, and others.
