TWO BIOTECH EVENTS TO BE HELD FOR GEORGIA LIFE SCIENCE RESEARCHERS

The 16^th Annual BioResearch Product Faire™ Events will be held at University of Georgia, Athens and at Emory University on March 3 and 4, respectively.  This event series brings together laboratory equipment and supply vendors with researchers, scientists and educators from all sectors of the life science industry. Held at two of Georgia’s prestigious research institutions, these events give lab vendors a chance to showcase their latest biotech lab supplies and consumables to some of the nation’s most prominent researchers.

Some key funding facts from these top-level research institutions:

·      -In 2014, Emory University received $521.8 million in total research funding awards and $483 million in health sciences research funding awards.

·      -The National Institutes of Health have awarded the University of Georgia, Athens $45.6 million in science research funding.

·      -Emory University is carrying out a $52 million expansion and renovation project at the Sanford S. Atwood Chemistry Center.

·      -UGA recently received $44.7 million for the construction of the 122,500 square-foot Science Learning Center.
